Lots of smoke in the air today. It looks like fog, but it is smoke. Planted more Packman Broccoli. Started beans, marigolds, sunflowers and cantalope from seed.

Harvested strawberries today. Planted 6 more Packman broccoli. Mosaiced around the eyes of "Gym Rat". Slow day. Nice weather tho.

The Post Office did not pick up the out going mail today. Neither did they deliver any mail. I run a business. Hope I am not missing any tax forms or bills. They say the Post Office represents the average person's only contact with the Federal Government. I give it a bad performance review today.

Kid came to visit today and we harvested strawberries, bell peppers, cukes. tomatoes, beets, turnips and carrots. We had a nice pancake breakfast with the honey ham and the fresh berries. Kid did laundry. We worked on table decor for her Super Bowl party. After she departed back to big city life, PD and I fed the turtle and watched the fox squirrels and birds (lots of sparrows, flycatcher, and chickadees at the moment).

Saturday trip to the Mall

Had to go to Target today to get candles. It was fairly crowded. I shopped for cute dresses for Margot but didn't see anything special. Went over to Publix and was delighted to score a honey baked ham and Purex detergent both on sale. Yay sales! After ham sandwiches for supper, Plant Daddy and I set to work on another mosaic face statue.

Big Wide Tall, Part 2

About a half an hour after the Post Office, I found myself on the bread aisle at Publix. A lady, older than me, stretched tippy toe, but was too short to reach a loaf of raisin bread on the top shelf. I again leapt into action and reached it easily and handed it to her. It was nice to be big and tall today.

Big, Wide, Tall

At the Post Office today, four customers were being served at the counter while 8 of us waited in line. I was #6. Line members #5 and #7 were the only people under the age of 40. I was leaning on the holiday package display, slightly out of the line, and #5 and #7 began a caffienated loud conversation about the poor quality of postal service, the long lines and the general demise of the post office. I was silently agreeing with them until #7 said the fault was "all these retired people with nothing better to do than go to the post office and tie up the line". Everyone stared at her, but I leapt into action. I stood and placed my considerably hefty, white haired body between her and #5. Without eye contact, their conversation halted. They tried to maneuver to see each other again, but I leaned side to side as was necessary to part them. It worked and the stupid, young bitches shut up. Ahhh, silence was golden.

I had to call my stock broker office yesterday. It was a simple request for some tax preparation data. The office chickie made me feel as if I were interrupting her day. Well, today the info did not arrive. I guess she was just toooo busy to help me. So I spent the morning on line fetching the info for myself. It was hard for me, but I managed to sift it out and get it put down for the tax man. If the office chickie knew this next bit, she'd be afraid for her job and well she should be. I also spent the morning researching on-line brokers. Looks like I could save myself a lot of hassle and fees. My account was yours to lose big broker, and it looks like by hiring a young stupid chickie, you are going to see my big, fat, ugly, old butt go away...with my account.
